Additional The Cold Moon: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel Information

Lincoln Rhyme returns in a heart stopping new thriller from the author of The Twelfth Card

On a freezing December night, with a full moon hovering in the black sky over New York City, two people are brutally murdered -- the death scenes marked by eerie, matching calling cards: moon-faced clocks investigators fear ticked away the victims' last moments on earth. Renowned criminologist Lincoln Rhyme immediately identifies the clock distributor and has the chilling realization that the killer -- who has dubbed himself the Watchmaker -- has more murders planned in the hours to come.

Rhyme, a quadriplegic long confined to his wheelchair, immediately taps his trusted partner and longtime love, Amelia Sachs, to walk the grid and be his eyes and ears on the street. But Sachs has other commitments now -- namely, her first assignment as lead detective on a homicide of her own. As she struggles to balance her pursuit of the infuriatingly elusive Watchmaker with her own case, Sachs unearths shocking revelations about the police force that threaten to undermine her career, her sense of self and her relationship with Rhyme. As the Rhyme-Sachs team shows evidence of fissures, the Watchmaker is methodically stalking his victims and planning a diabolical criminal masterwork....Indeed, the Watchmaker may be the most cunning and mesmerizing villain Rhyme and Sachs have ever encountered.

What Customers Say About The Cold Moon: A Lincoln Rhyme Novel:

I am a fan of Jeffery Deaver and once again he comes thru in this book with a real thriller with plot twists and turns that you aren't expecting. But then again this is a fiction novel. Is some of it a little unbelievable. Maybe. I found it to be a lot of fun to read and enjoy books that keep me guessing until the end and this one did. Have fun reading.

Just my.02. I'm not saying you have to align with my views, but a fiction/thriller can read just as well without it.

Now I realize that everyone can't have the same opinions or political persuasions but I find it very off putting to be reading happily along only to be side swiped by derogatory comments towards Republicans or "right-wingers". Really.

I really loved reading all the Jeffrey Deaver I could get my hands on, but unfortunately, it happened. I want a good psycho-thriller to take me away from reality, even if for a short while.

Way to wipe out half an audience. If I want your political opinion, I'll ask for it.

Patricia Cornwell went over the edge with the last few books and now sadly Jeffrey Deaver will be joining her in the "won't read it anymore" pile. Dean Koontz really rocks.

Is Mr. I am constantly amazed by the level of detail Deaver uses to create his incredibly complex plotlines. I've read many Jeffery Deaver novels which include, of course, Lincoln Rhyme thrillers. Deaver trying to out-do himself with each book; adding a bonus twist in each book that does not service the storyline, and over-complicate. One of the best parts of the a Deaver story is the "Gotcha" at the end (Read: The Empty Chair). His use of existing and emerging forensic science in his stories are entertaining, and informative, in addition to being vehicles for his thrillers.I am concerned though. Or is The Watchmaker truly the most intelligent criminal that ever lived.Unfortunately, it felt that after having ridden through all of the twists and turns on this one, I did feel a little let down by the ending. On another subject, this is the first time we meet Kathryn Dance. I am wondering how Deaver plans on using her expertise in "kinesics" in future stories.

I did enjoy this novel. This was the first one of the Lincoln Rhyme Novels I had the pleasure to read. The story line kept the reader involved and as is the quality of the novels by Jeffery Deaver, the reader is presented with many twists and turns to keep your interest. I would recommend this as an excellent read.

It enables you to get to know and appreciate the characters so much more as they grow & develop throughout the books. Jeffery Deaver is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE AUTHORS. If you've read some of Deaver's earlier books/series, namely, the "The Rune Series" or the "The John Pellam Series", and did not enjoy them, please do not judge ALL of his books by those. He has so many twists & turns in his books, you never know what to expect next. Although each novel in the "Lincoln Rhyme Series" stands alone, you will probably want to start with the first book in the series, titled "The Bone Collector". His writing style changes completely with the "Lincoln Rhyme" books and if you like mystery & suspense, you will LOVE these. This is book #7 in the series.
